PROMS-MmNet'97
is a joint event comprising the Workshop on
Protocols for Multimedia Systems
previously held in Germany (1994), Austria (1995) and Spain (1996)
and the Conference on Multimedia Networking
previously held in Aizu, Japan (1995). The venue of
the conference is Santiago, the capital of Chile, right
after TINA'97, one of the main technical conferences in
the telecommunications field. The event is jointly organized
by the Univ. of Chile and the Univ. of Aizu, Japan, and
sponsored by the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC) as well as the
organizing universities and technically co-sponsored by IEEE
Communications Society.

Computer Communications Journal Special Issue
A number of papers selected from the tutorials and accepted and presented papers
is expected to be published in a special issue of Computer
Communications. The papers that will be published will be the revised and improved
versions of the papers that will be published in the IEEE Computer Society Press
proceedings and will be refereed.
